This new neighborhood complex is a LEED (Leadership
in Energy and Environmental Design) certified development. It
is designed to use less energy and natural resources through the
incorporation of innovations such as solar panels and raingardens.
The raingardens and storm water detention area reduce runoff from
rooftops and other hard surfaces. Porous pavement was used in
the sidewalks to reduce runoff to an adjacent stream and recharge
the ground water supply.
The raingardens and storm water detention area
were designed with native vegetation that is aesthetically pleasing
and thrives in both wet and dry conditions.
