Kudzu, at various sites in Indiana
|

Kudzu is a host for Soybean Rust which can have devastating effects on our agricultural economy. Eco Logic LLC has worked extensively with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources Division of Entomology and Plant Pathology to enact control measures. A selective herbicide was chosen to treat Kudzu because it allowed for control of the target species while preventing erosion and preserving native species diversity. We are hopeful that we can continue to work with INDNR to help protect the natural and agricultural resources of Indiana from the negative effects of Kudzu invasion.

Kudzu is an extremely invasive vine from Japan that has degraded millions of acres in the southeastern United States. Kudzu has moved into Indiana and at least 80 outbreaks have been reported. Most of the sites are in southern Indiana, but the northern county of La Porte has one outbreak which Eco Logic treated in 2007.
